LENSES

Marking Systems, Inc. is an expert in manufacturing precision lenses. MSI has developed a very special production method for producing lenses. Producing overlays with clear windows is the mostly difficult type of printing we do. The hard-coat polycarbonates/polyesters are extremely scratch resistant on the top side but soft and scratch able on the under/print side of the material. Special care must be taken in-order to eliminate scratching and imperfections in the clear windows. Our six-color carousel screen printing press allows MSI to print up to six colors in one pass reducing the handling and potential scratching that typically occur by using one color printing press where the material must be taken on and off the press for each color. Any additionally handling of the material invites scratches and imperfections in the clear windows.
Materials used include polycarbonate, Autotype polyesters, hard coats and FR polycarbonates to name a few.

3M laminating adhesives and VHB tapes are typically used to ensure that each overlay performs to the environment it is placed. 3M has adhesives for all types of applications ranging from high temperature, low surface energy plastics, powder coat paints, outdoor exposure and metals. Features include dead front, UV texture, embossing and selective adhesive. Depending on your graphics MSI uses both screen and digital printing.
Need help designing the right overlay for your product: one that has the correct fit, form, function and great looks. MSI's in house graphics department is an excellent resource to help your company design the perfect overlay.
